Sony managed to end their E3 press conference off with a bang on Monday night, by introducing the newest teaser trailer for the highly anticipated next iteration in the Uncharted franchise. The game will mark the first game published for the series on the PS4 and the first game published on the PS4 by the critically acclaimed studio Naughty Dog.
We learned multiple things through the very vague and short two plus minute trailer. The game officially has a title: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and all speculation that the game won’t feature Nathan Drake were put to rest as we are given our first glimpse of next gen Drake to begin the trailer.
The trailer starts with a zoomed in shot of Nathan Drake’s face lying in sand with a voice over of Drake talking to Sully asking him to adventure forth with him one more time. After Nathan Drake awakens and stands up we see he has washed up on what looks like a island.
As Drake makes his way towards the forest he asks Sully if he can count on him “one last time” Sully reluctantly replies “alright kid lets go do it… one last time” and the camera pans to the right to show skeletons trapped in cages.
The trailer had a much darker feeling than the previous Uncharted games and speculation will start to run rampant on if this will be the last entry in the Uncharted franchise, with a tone of almost exhaustion and a title A Thief’s End there are some hints to it, but there is no official comment from Naughty Dog.
You can check out the trailer below. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will release in 2015.
