For all of you addicted to Blizzard’s collectible card game Hearthstone we finally know how much gold/money it will cost in order to unlock the entire expansion, The Curse of Naxxramas. Blizzard’s highly anticipated expansion will be rolled out wing by wing with a new wing being released each week releasing in this order: Arachnid Quarter, Plague Quarter, Military Quarter, Construct Quarter, and Frostwyrm Lair.
Gamers who participate in the launch event will be given free access into the Arachnid Quarter where they will face off against: Anub’Rekhan, Grand Widow Faerlina, and Maexxna. Don’t worry the launch event is planned to last roughly a month long so there will be plenty of time to log in and grab your free wing, but after that you will need to shell out some dough or in game gold in order to unlock the remaining wings.
The wings can be purchased one at a time for $6.99 per wing or 700 gold, or can be purchased in bundles with real world money. If you participate in the launch event and get access to the Arachnid wing for free you will have to purchase the 4 wing bundle in order to unlock the remainder of the expansion which will run you $19.99. This method seems like the best, unless of course you have been strong enough and saved up your hard earned gold and can purchase all four wings for 2,800 gold. For other obscure ways of purchasing you can check out the remaining pricing structures below in the graphic that Blizzard provided.
Purchasing a bundle or wings ahead of their launch will not give you access early but will guarantee you access when they are released.
I personally will be forking over $20 in order to unlock all the wings as soon as the expansion is released hopefully sometime in this month since I don’t have the patience or willpower to grind to 2,800 gold. If you are one of the many that has enough gold I salute you.
