Microsoft kicked off their E3 press conference by showing off the newest entry in the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The video showed what looked to be a the starting mission of the game. Beginning in a futuristic drop pod the game play footage followed Mitchell, the player controlled character, through a battlefield of futuristic weapons.
Like any other Call of Duty game, the graphics were gorgeous and was filled with large set pieces. The trailer didn’t seem to bring very much new to the Call of Duty universe aside from the futuristic weapons, that just felt silly.
The trailer had a gimmicky jumped the shark type feeling as robotic bugs flew over head and the player threw grenades that jet packed to their enemy. It felt as though Activision knew they are running out of time and needed a new gimmick to keep players hooked.
The game will surely sell well and we were not introduced to multiplayer, which as we all know is the major seller for CoD games. You can pick up Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on November 4, 2014.
